“I bought mine specifically for trail use and it does not disappoint! I put hydraulic shocks on my M24Pro off road electric skateboard with 150lb springs and now it’s way smoother and more stable.
I got them off AliExpress. The shocks I got were EXAform 291R’s in 165MM, but the softest spring was 650lbs. So I also found a spring that was 165MM and said it worked for EXA 260 and 290 and swapped it onto the EXA’s spring perch to keep factory suspension travel. If you do the same you’ll have to grind down one side of the shock to fit in the upper part of the shock tower as it’s way narrower than any hydraulic shocks I could find. Expect to pay $60-70USD per shock, couldn’t tell you what the springs cost but I think around $15 each. You could probably use just the springs on the factory shock, the factory springs were just a millimeter or less smaller in diameter than the replacement shocks I used. If you go that route springs are available in 165MM with a ton of different spring rates.
The shocks, by the way, are Kind shock EXA form 291R in 165MM. I would personally suggest going with the 290 instead, hydraulic as well but no rebound adjuster so you could run them inverted like they did from the factory. This puts the preload collar on top where it’s easier to reach.
Intense hill climbs and mud riding deserve a detailing and regrease. I also added some Paracord grab handles, because it’s a 60lb 4′ long monster.
